1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using this site, creating an account, or participating in activities that rely on this platform, you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the site.

2. Who may use this site

This platform is intended for use by individuals who are at least 15 years old. By creating an account, you represent that you are 15 or older. We may disable or remove accounts that we reasonably believe belong to individuals younger than 15.

The site is designed to serve members, attendees, and volunteers of the Virgin Mary & St. John Youth Meeting and related church ministries.

3. Purpose of the platform

This platform exists to support the Youth Meeting's spiritual, pastoral, and community activities. It may be used to:

• Share information about events, services, and trips.
• Manage attendance and member records.
• Submit and respond to service requests (such as Bible Study, job-related assistance, rehab and visitations, and other pastoral needs).
• Coordinate ministry teams and internal follow-up.
• Share photos, media, and updates from Youth Meeting life.

It is not intended to be a public social network, a commercial service, or a general-purpose platform.

4. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information: You agree to provide accurate and honest information when you create an account or submit forms (including your name, contact information, and date of birth).
• Protect your account: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for any activity that occurs under your account.
• Use the platform respectfully: You agree to use the site in a way that honors the Christian character of the Youth Meeting, respects others, and complies with applicable laws.
• No misuse or abuse: You agree not to attempt to circumvent security, access data you are not authorized to see, submit abusive or harmful content, or interfere with the operation of the site.

5. Content and media

Photos, media, and text content shared on this platform are intended to reflect the life of the Youth Meeting and the broader church community. In general:

• Content may depict events, gatherings, retreats, and services in which you or others appear.
• You may not upload, request, or share content that is harmful, defamatory, harassing, obscene, illegal, or inconsistent with the Christian ethos of the church.
• If you have concerns about a particular photo or piece of media that includes you or someone in your care, please contact Youth Meeting leadership so we can review your request.

6. Roles, teams, and permissions

Certain features and data are available only to users with specific roles (for example, attendance team, media team, or admin). Roles are assigned by authorized leaders and may be changed or revoked at any time.

By accepting a team role, you agree to:

• Use access to member data only for ministry purposes.
• Respect confidentiality, particularly around sensitive pastoral requests and internal notes.
• Follow any additional guidelines or instructions provided by church leadership for your ministry area.

7. Service requests and pastoral care

When you submit a service request, you may choose to share personal or sensitive information so that clergy or ministry teams can support you. We will handle this information with care and restrict access to appropriate team members and leadership, but no online system can be perfectly confidential.

This platform does not replace emergency services. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services first, then reach out to clergy or ministry leaders as appropriate.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the platform available and functioning, but we do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the site at any time, for example to perform maintenance, make improvements, or address security or technical issues.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

This platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis as a ministry tool. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Youth Meeting, its leaders, and volunteers disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, the Youth Meeting and its leaders will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or related to your use of this site. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit liability where such limitation is not allowed under applicable law.

10. Termination and account closure

We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, misused the site, or compromised the safety or integrity of the community.

You may request that we deactivate your account by contacting Youth Meeting leadership through the usual church communication channels. Some records (such as attendance or audit logs) may be retained for pastoral, historical, or security reasons, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party services

The platform relies on third-party services such as Supabase (hosting, database, authentication, and storage) and separate email delivery services for transactional email. Your use of this site may therefore involve your data being processed by those providers on our behalf. We aim to select reputable providers and configure them with appropriate security, but we do not control their internal operations.

This site may also link to external services such as the Youth Meeting's Facebook group. Those services have their own terms and policies, which you should review separately.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the platform, ministry needs, or applicable laws. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page. If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice (such as an in-app message).
